Energy Solutions Through Cooperative Actions
————–
ARCTEC is a cooperative formed in 2011 by the six Railbelt utilities – Golden Valley Electric Association, Matanuska Electric Association, Chugach Electric Association, Municipal Light & Power, Homer Electric Association and the City of Seward
ARCTEC’s purpose is to address generation and transmission service needs in the Railbelt region. ARCTEC will facilitate the development of energy sources with participating Railbelt utilities and the state of Alaska, and effective combinations of these entities. ARCTEC may also represent the interests of Railbelt utilities in the development of energy from independent power producers.
Now in its eighth year, Tom DeLong, chairman of the Golden Valley Electric Association’s Board of Directors, serves as ARCTEC’s chair.
